Since 1911 the Sailing ship Eye of the Wind across all the world's oceans. In the "Ocean City" Plymouth the tall ship, which has also been used as a film set in several Hollywood productions, can be visited. As part of a Open Ship the crew will answer questions from all seafarers, ship lovers and young sea dogs about the Ship and its History. Every visitor can try out sailor's knots in a "knot school", and collectors will of course also receive a ship's stamp.

Admission is freeRegistration or booking is not necessary for participation in the Open Ship. There is no day cruise during the Open Ship; the ship remains moored at its berth. The organiser reserves the right to change the berth at short notice.

Worth seeing is the historic harbour The Hoefrom where the famous "Mayflower Steps" rock commemorates the departure of the Pilgrim Fathers to America. Here you can stroll along the promenade and the view of the Smeaton's Tower lighthouse enjoy. Discover an impressive underwater world at the National Marine Aquarium, while the Royal William Yard gives you an insight into the maritime architecture of the 19th century.
