The ship was built in 1911 as a topsail schooner at the L\u00fchring shipyard in Brake \/ Germany and converted into a brig in the 1970s. Since 2009 it has been operated by the <a href=\"\/en\/about\/\">FORUM train &amp; sail GmbH<\/a> and sails mainly in the North Sea and Baltic Sea, in the Canary Islands and in the Caribbean. The crew consists of a captain, helmsman, engineer, cook, sailors and trainees.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"gb-container gb-container-d71af771 fadein alignfull\">\n<div class=\"gb-container gb-container-fff9c41e\">\n\n<h2 class=\"gb-headline gb-headline-1db71ab5 gb-headline-text\">Your tasks<\/h2>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Nautical ship management in compliance with the necessary safety regulations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Compliance with safety management and all legal regulations with regard to both ship operation and persons on board.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintenance and servicing of the ship to ensure that it is in perfect technical condition.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensuring a first-class appearance of the ship both at sea and in harbour.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Compliance with legal requirements; liaising with authorities; responsibility for monitoring ship certificates and due dates, and scheduling timely surveys.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Personnel responsibility for the international crew, assignment of tasks and their monitoring.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Crew management: deployment and holiday planning, recruiting, hiring.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participation in the planning, preparation and realisation of sailing and business plans.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Management of the ship in accordance with the agreed plans and monitoring of the economic operation with budget responsibility for catering, telecommunications, crew travel expenses, maintenance work, fuel and port charges, etc.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Organisation of attractive voyages for up to 12 passengers on board with active participation in shipboard life and sail training.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Communicate with and report to the ship's office (Merching, Germany), ship owner and implementing agent (DPA).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monitoring and acceptance of services from external suppliers and service providers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Customer management: direct contact person on board for guests' concerns; provision of booked services. Responsibility for advertising measures on board.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"gb-container gb-container-71f7d93c fadein alignfull\">\n<div class=\"gb-container gb-container-ddd0832a\">\n\n<h2 class=\"gb-headline gb-headline-38ee142c gb-headline-text\">Your requirements \/ your profile<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Extensive experience on sailing vessels is required; practical experience with square-rigged sailing vessels is desirable. You act independently, responsibly and in a service-orientated manner. You have a friendly manner and good organisational skills.
