The former British colony is known for its 365 dream beaches - a beach for every day of the year - famous. After its discovery by Christopher Columbus, British colonial rule shaped the image of the island. Use the time during your stay for a Visit to English Harbourtown with its impeccably restored architecture. Saint-Martin

The island of Saint Martin, part of the Lesser Antilles archipelago, is considered a top holiday destination. Make the most of your stay for a relaxing day on the dreamy Dawn Beach. Saint-Martin is considered the "culinary capital of the Caribbean" - be sure to try the local specialities made from the guava fruit.

Princess Juliana International Airport is located in the Dutch southern half of the Twin island Sint Maarten / Saint-Martin. A special feature of this Caribbean island paradise worth seeing can be found in the immediate vicinity: At the nearby Maho Beach the distance between the landing aircraft and the heads of the beach visitors (or the mastheads of the boats anchored there) is often only a few metres. The arrival times of the largest scheduled jets are announced daily on a chalkboard attached to a surfboard for amateur photographers. Between the airport and the nearby town of Marigot taxis or minibuses are available. The modern Fort Louis Marina lies in the French part of the colourful and lively Caribbean islandwhere the euro is the official national currency.

Guestbook comments

I can only recommend a sailing trip on the 'Eye of the Wind'. This two-master is a sailing ship straight out of a picture book, and the crew is in a great mood. And if you want, you can climb to the top of the mast - 27 metres above sea level. Fabulous!"

Claus-Georg Petri
Fellow sailor and journalist, about his cruise in the Danish South Sea

Simply an overwhelming experience - you have to experience it.

Dr Hermann Gärlich
fellow sailor, about his voyage between Vigo and Tenerife

Here I can let go of all the tension and find myself again.

Jan Störmer
fellow sailor, about his voyage from Stockholm through the western Swedish archipelago

The way this magnificent sailing ship pushes through the waves with the help of the wind alone is an indescribable feeling. There is nothing more beautiful.

Ulf Kaack
Co-sailor and author of maritime books, about his cruise in the Western Baltic Sea
