50 years ago, on 25 September 1976, our ship made its first voyage under the new name Eye of the Wind following extensive refurbishment work.
On the last Sunday in September, visitors can tour the tall ship, which has also achieved screen fame as a film set in several Hollywood productions. As part of an open ship event, the crew will answer questions from sightseers, sailors, ship enthusiasts and young sea dogs about the ship and its 115-year history. All visitors can try their hand at sailing knots, and collectors will of course receive a ship's stamp. Come aboard and get to know the ship – or share your personal sailing memories from the last 50 years with our crew.
Admission is free. Registration or booking is not necessary for participation in the Open Ship. There is no day trip during the Open Ship; the ship remains moored at its berth. The organiser reserves the right to change the berth at short notice.
