Statement to participate in sailing trips

1. I will be taking part in a sailing trip, event or training on the sailing ship Eye of the Wind.

2. I will conduct myself on board in such a way as not to hinder the ship’s operations or endanger or inconvenience other passengers and crew members. During the sailing trip or event, I will immediately comply with all safety-related instructions and those relating to the ship’s operations issued by the skipper and crew members, in the interests of the safety of the ship and the people on board.

3. I am not aware of any health concerns that would prevent me from taking part in the sailing trip and/or in activities on board the sailing ship. I have ensured that I am physically fit for the sailing trip and will continue to monitor my fitness throughout the trip; should any limitations arise, I will inform the ship’s crew immediately.

4. If I am taking part in a voyage during which it is not possible to call at a port, or only under difficult conditions, for a period of more than one week, I will submit the required, fully completed medical questionnaire by the day of embarkation (start of the voyage) at the latest. I have taken note of the medical information provided in this regard.

5. I will find out about the prevailing weather conditions in the destination and bring suitable clothing, including, where necessary, weatherproof and waterproof items.

6. I will take the necessary safety precautions for myself in each situation, for example by putting on a life jacket and ensuring my own safety below deck, on the upper deck, in and on the water, and on land.

7. I am aware that taking part in a sailing trip involves inherent risks and dangers. In particular, I am aware that I am exposed to the risk of damage to property and/or personal injury, which may arise from a wide variety of causes. I accept these risks and am taking part in the sailing trip and/or the event at my own risk.

8. I accept full responsibility for my minor children travelling with me.

9. I hereby waive any and all claims for damages or compensation for personal injury or damage to property caused by illness, mental health issues, sudden limitations in my own fitness to participate, the various causes and risks associated with the sailing trip, and any other misconduct, against the organiser FORUM train & sail GmbH and the crew members, as well as against Eye of the Wind Ltd. This waiver does not apply in the event of wilful misconduct or where liability is otherwise mandatory.

10. I will find out about the entry requirements for the countries I am visiting and ensure that my passport is valid for the period required by the country in question.
