Captain: Pit

I have been working in maritime shipping since I was 26. I attended maritime college in Enkhuizen in the Netherlands, graduating with the title of Master (all ships). After spending a long time on merchant ships, I found my way back to sailing – finally!!!

I have known the Eye of the Wind for a long time because a colleague from nautical college was her captain for nine years – my predecessor, in fact. Sailing is a passion of mine that I love and live for. What makes this ship special is that although I am the captain on board, I cannot sail from A to B on my own – everyone works together here as a team.

Our fellow sailors will get to know me as an adventurer and enthusiastic sailor, and I am particularly looking forward to the long voyages to distant places. My dream destination with the Eye of the Wind? – The islands of the South Pacific!
