The Falmouth Royal Greenwich Tall Ships Race
Mark your calendar for the voyage of a lifetime …
This summer, the sight of white sail tips cresting the horizon of Falmouth Bay will herald a landmark moment in history when two English ports will together host one of the biggest international sailing events in solely English waters for the first time ever.
The Falmouth to Royal Greenwich Tall Ships Regatta 2014 will see a fleet of more than 30 Tall Ships from around the world arrive in the historic port of Falmouth for three days of festivities from 28th to 30th August, before the race start on the 31st.
During the celebrations, people will be able to go on-board and experience the sights, sounds and smells of life on-board these majestic ships where fortunes, careers and lives have been won and lost. There'll also be a packed schedule of onshore activities including exhibitions, children’s activities, live music, a colourful ship’s crew parade through the town centre and a spectacular firework finale.
Enjoy the preparations for the race right in the centre of all the festivities by spending a night or two on board of a Tall Ship. You will stay in a double or single cabin aboard the 'Eye of the Wind' and will enjoy your breakfast in a maritime harbour scenery.
