Trainee (m / f / d)
We look forward to receiving your unsolicited application.
Your tasks
As a trainee, you will familiarise yourself with all the activities required to sail, manoeuvre and maintain a square-rigged sailing ship. This includes all work on board and, during watches on longer journeys, working on the nautical chart if you want to learn more about navigation. You will receive a nautical mileage certificate, which can be used to have your time at sea recognised by a nautical school.
Your requirements / your profile
We take on trainees on a voluntary basis for around 3 months, in special cases (e.g. limited time off work or as a mother) we shorten this period to 1.5 months. We carry passengers and are constantly travelling with the ship. The operation of the ship, the safety of everyone on board and the friendly treatment of guests are of the utmost importance. We always have an open eye for those who demonstrate competence and leadership qualities. Above all, we give capable people a chance to stay on board longer and continue their career as deckhand or helmsman. We prefer to offer vacancies as a paid deckhand to our trainees. Good English language skills are required for communication with staff and guests.
Special provisions apply to young people under the age of 18, which you read here can.
