The highlight of the harbour birthday celebrations on Sunday is participation in the sail-out parade of the world's largest harbour festival. A fleet of around 100 vessels forms a grand parade. The spectrum ranges from small Elbe fishing boats to huge ocean liners. After casting off from the port of the Hanseatic city, we sail down the Elbe and join the large convoy. Accompanied by thousands of spectators on both banks of the Elbe, all participating ships bid farewell to the host city of Hamburg and its visitors at the St. Pauli Landungsbrücken. After the parade formation has been dissolved, the Eye of the Wind heads back to her berth. Together with other traditional sailing ships, this offers another unusual photo opportunity in a fantastic harbour setting at the end of the celebrations.
The sail-out parade can also be booked with an overnight stay.
