On board the two-masted Eye of the Wind, you can enjoy an exciting time at sea and a delicious dinner in a maritime atmosphere. After a welcome drink, it's time to cast off for a leisurely evening cruise along the most beautiful spots on the Kiel Fjord in summer.
After the daily sailing regattas have ended, calm gradually descends on the Kiel Fjord in the evening hours. There is still plenty to discover on the water and along the shore: the submarine memorial at Heikendorf on the eastern shore of the fjord, the green and white Friedrichsort lighthouse and the naval memorial at Laboe are the unmissable landmarks on our evening trip out to sea. We set course for the Kiel lighthouse, which serves as a navigation mark for all ships approaching Kiel from the open Baltic Sea. From the very beginning, you are welcome to actively participate in setting the sails – always on a voluntary basis and under the guidance of our experienced crew. On the way, our galley will spoil you with a delicious dinner.
We now sail past the lighthouses of Bülk, Friedrichsort and Holtenau in a wide loop. The last rays of daylight fall on the beaches of Heikendorf and Laboe on the eastern shore.
On the last day of Kiel Sailing Week, the evening cruise ends with fireworks or a light show over the inner fjord. A jumble of red, green and white dots marks the entrance to the Kiel Canal. After four to five hours, our little sea voyage ends there at Tiessenkai.
The evening trip to the fireworks can be booked with an additional overnight stay.
