Accompany the Eye of the Wind on a sailing trip in the footsteps of its own history. Elsfleth in the Wesermarsch - not far from the place where the ship was launched 114 years earlier. To the rhythm of the tides, discover the Outer Weser area, the German and Dutch North Sea coast along the Frisian Islands as well as the varied shipping traffic on the English Channel. Depending on the wind and weather Stopovers with shore leave possible along this route. The destination of the journey is Plymouthfrom where the Eye of the Wind set off on a scientific expedition around the world in 1978.

Elsfleth

Explore the charming harbour of Elsfleth, where the Hunte meets the Weser. Visit the traditional maritime museum and enjoy peaceful walks along the waterfront. Observe historic sailing ships and experience authentic maritime flair - ideal for history lovers!

In Elsfleth experience maritime flair in a charming small town. Our ship was launched just a few kilometres from here in 1911. Located directly at the harbour Maritime museum The exhibition illustrates the shipbuilding era of the time, the history of shipping on the Weser and the Maritime life in the Wesermarsch region. Interactive stations, models and original exhibits such as historical navigation equipment and portraits of captains give you a vivid picture of seafaring. The old maritime school with its striking architecture characterises the cityscape and stands for the long tradition as a training location for seafarers. A Hike along the Weser beach offers great views of the water and the passing ships. The beautiful market square and the St Nicolai Church invite you to linger.

Plymouth

Welcome to the historic harbour of Plymouth, where the Mayflower Steps commemorate important voyages. Visit the impressive National Marine Aquarium and enjoy the view from Smeaton's Tower. Let yourself be tempted by local delicacies in the Barbican Market - an ideal destination for sea lovers!

If you Plymouth in the south-west of England you will experience a city that is closely connected to the sea. Worth seeing is the historic harbour The Hoefrom where the famous "Mayflower Steps" rock commemorates the departure of the Pilgrim Fathers to America. Here you can stroll along the promenade and the view of the Smeaton's Tower lighthouse enjoy. Discover an impressive underwater world at the National Marine Aquarium, while the Royal William Yard gives you an insight into the maritime architecture of the 19th century. Use the time of your stay for a visit to the Marine Dockyard Museumwhere you can learn more about the history of the Royal Navy. There are also numerous Boat trips around the natural harbour of Plymouth Sound offered.
