Trainee offer:

As a trainee, you will familiarize yourself with all the activities required to sail, manoeuvre and maintain a square-rigged sailing ship. This includes all work on board and, during watches on longer routes, also working on the nautical chart if you want to learn more about navigation. You will receive a nautical mileage certificate, which can be used to have your time at sea recognized by a nautical school.

Requirements:

We take on trainees on a voluntary basis for around 3 months, in special cases (e.g. limited time off work or as a mother) we shorten this period to 1.5 months. We carry passengers and are constantly traveling with the ship. The operation of the ship, the safety of all persons on board and the friendly treatment of guests have the highest priority. We always have an open eye for those who demonstrate competence and leadership qualities. Above all, we give capable people a chance to stay on board longer and continue their career as a Deckhand or First Mate. We prefer to offer vacancies as a paid deckhand to our trainees. Good English language skills are required for communication with staff and guests.

Special regulations apply to young people under the age of 18, which you can read here.
