Trip information

An impressive fleet of ships forms the sail-in parade to the big harbour festival. The spectrum ranges from small Elbe fishing boats to huge ocean cruisers. After casting off from the port of Hamburg, we first sail downstream, past the Oevelgönne museum harbour, the Hamburg villa suburb of Blankenese and the green banks of the Elbe. We then join the large convoy. Accompanied by thousands of spectators on both banks of the Elbe, Hamburg welcomes all the guest ships that are honouring the Hanseatic city on its harbour birthday at the St. Pauli Landungsbrücken. After the parade formation has been dissolved, the Eye of the Wind heads for her assigned berth. Together with other traditional sailing ships, this offers an unusual photo opportunity against a fantastic harbour backdrop.

The sail-in-parade can be booked either with or without an overnight stay and breakfast. You have the option of staying overnight on board after an eventful day. You can enjoy your delicious breakfast the next morning amidst the harbour coming to life. Check-out is then at 9 am on 7 May.

This is where you board

Hamburg

Hamburg inspires with its maritime atmosphere and impressive sights: The imposing Elbphilharmonie concert hall, the historic Speicherstadt ensemble and the lively Reeperbahn characterise the cityscape. The harbour invites you to take a harbour tour, while the Binnenalster and Planten un Blomen invite you to relax.

Hamburg, Germany's "gateway to the world", fascinates visitors with a mixture of maritime history, modern architecture and vibrant city life. Among the outstanding sights is the Port of Hamburg, one of the largest seaports in Europe, which is best experienced on a harbour tour. The Elbphilharmonie in the HafenCity district impresses with its outstanding acoustics and spectacular architecture. The historical journey continues in the Speicherstadt, the largest contiguous warehouse complex in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Hamburg residents and visitors alike can relax on the Inner and Outer Alster lakes. Museums, theatres and the Planten un Blomen park round off the diverse range of attractions. From 1911 onwards, Hamburg was the first home port of the Eye of the Wind, which was then called Friedrich.
