Taster trip: Lübeck Bay and Wismar Bay – this short voyage is the perfect way to get a taste of traditional sailing! From our mooring in the Hanseatic city of Lübeck, we’ll sail down the River Trave and into Lübeck Bay. A harbour town on the sunny island of Fehmarn or the Hanseatic city of Wismar is planned as a possible stopover and turning point. Even during your short stay on board, you’ll enjoy the comfort and excellent cuisine, experience authentic traditional seafaring skills, and discover how it feels to go ashore in the evening after a day at sea.

Our crew will welcome you on board at the port of Lübeck. Once your luggage has been stowed away, you’ll get to know the crew members and your fellow passengers over dinner together. Your break from everyday life begins in the cosy saloons and on the decks of the Eye of the Wind. You have three days and three nights on board ahead of you – filled with fresh sea air, shared experiences and relaxing moments on the water.

Our sailing area: from Lübeck along the Baltic Sea coast

We leave Lübeck behind and set course for the coast of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Schleswig-Holstein. Depending on the weather and route, the cruise will take us to Wismar, Neustadt in Holstein or Orth on Fehmarn. Along the way, sheltered stretches of coastline alternate with open sea passages. The steady motion of the ship, the fresh breeze and the soft creaking of the rigging accompany us on our journey. On deck, you can watch life at sea, let your gaze wander across the Baltic Sea, or simply enjoy the peace and quiet.

Get actively involved in sailing or simply relax on board – the choice is yours

Following a safety and sailing briefing by the friendly and helpful crew, you are free to get involved in life on board as you please. You can help with the sailing manoeuvres or watch the experienced sailors at work – helping out is voluntary and always takes place under expert guidance. There’s also plenty of time for reading, relaxing or enjoying good conversation in the saloon. The galley provides a variety of meals throughout the voyage, which we enjoy together on board.

Coastal towns and little island moments

The planned stopovers allow time to explore a harbour town at your leisure. Wismar entices visitors with its historic old town and maritime harbour atmosphere. In Neustadt in Holstein, the waterfront promenade is perfect for a leisurely stroll; on Fehmarn, Orth offers a tranquil glimpse into life by the water. Which harbours we call at depends on the weather conditions.

Finally, we arrive in Lübeck-Travemünde. After the last few nautical miles along the coast, your journey draws to a close with views of the beach, the promenade and the Baltic Sea harbour – a brief break that will remain in your memory for a long time to come.
